Through some miscalculation, I had a misadventure with my right hand.
The actual reasons for the events that occurred, as well as the events
themselves, are lost in the mists of time. Well, not really, but I ain't tellin'.
The result was something that looked exactly like this:

This was a boxer's fracture of the last metacarpal.  I got to see the xray.
The end of the bone had come off. What kind of bozo would do that
to his own hand (somehow), anyway?  Well, THIS kind :

             Pretty scary, huh?    

Go ahead. Laugh away. I know I do.  But, just think for a minute, and if you can,
go back and see what you looked like 15 or more years ago, and see if you don't
laugh, too.  In the picture on the right, perhaps I'm looking into my future then, and
seeing me now. This would explain the look of consternation, or disappointment
on my face. No, maybe not the future, maybe I've noticed how awful my hand
looks magnified by the lens effect of the glass ball. Oh, and yes, that is the moon
hanging behind me.
